Anna Meroni works as a researcher at INDACO, the Industrial Design department of Politecnico di Milano, where she is assistant professor of service and strategic design. Co-director of the International Master Degree Programme in Strategic Design, she is a visiting professor and scholar in other schools and universities. Her research topics are service design and strategic innovation towards sustainability, with an emphasis on social innovation. She has considerable research experience in projects for sustainable, urban, and regional development conducted with a design approach.
Anna Meroni, architect and designer, is PhD in Industrial Design. She works as researcher at the research unit DIS, Design and Innovation for Sustainability, of the Department INDACO (Industrial Design, Arts, Communication and Fashion) of Politecnico di Milano, where she is Assistant Professor in Service and Strategic Design.
Visiting professor in other schools and universities (China Shanghai, Tongji University; Italy Pollenzo Università Scienze Gastronomiche; Italy MBA Consorzio MIP, Politecnico di Milano; Cile, Universidad de Valparaiso; Brazil Porto Alegre, Escola de design Unisinos; Colombia Barranquilla, Universidad del Norte), in 2010 she has been visiting scholar at Parsons The New School for Design in New York, and at ImaginationLancaster Lancaster University in Lancaster.
From 2004 she is in the scientific board, in the faculty and co-director of the International Master in Strategic Design organised by the Consortium POLIdesign for Politecnico di Milano.
She is also in the board of the Dottorato in Design of the same Institution.
Her topics are service design and system strategic innovation towards sustainability: she is involved in several national and international research activities, in the organisation of symposiums and events, and writes for scientific design journals.
Her main area of interest and investigation is social innovation considered in different areas of activity: in particular she has matured a considerable experience in the food system and related issues. Other subjects of investigation are services for de-mediation between producer and user and services supporting innovative forms of housing.
