Programma
Think about the potential of people's creativity, about the richness and variety of local cultures, assets and resources, about the capability of 'doing it yourself'.
How can we, as product service systems designers, trigger and support initiatives where the user is also a creative producer? How can we invent with people solutions and systems that push the boundaries of their creativity? How to stimulate cutting edge approaches to producing-delivering-using solutions with a local identity? How can we do this while producing more satisfaction for the people and more sustainability for the environment?
This course aims to explore the capability of designers to conceive and develop brilliant and unprecedented ideas about how to use and valorize local resources, leveraging on professional amateurism, people's self organization and collaboration.
Our playground will be the town and the region of Milan: to carry on our projects, we will conduct field research and deep diving into cultural identity. We will feed our imagination with blue-sky research and cases study. We will use multimedia and dynamic communication techniques: storytelling, storyboarding and representation tools and techniques will provide and develop the capabilities of envisioning and simulating design scenarios. We will interact with experts and with people adopting a cooperative approach. We will finally prototype our ideas, by simulating experiences and activities.
This studio integrates contributes from different areas of design (Design for Services, Scenario Building, Technology, Metadesign, Communication) in order to provide participants with an comprehensive experience of designing a service.
The course will offer a full immersion into the context, giving participant the chance to tackle with different elements of the local culture, understanding their relation with the inputs and the opportunity coming from the contact with the international environment and society.
